Genetic Technology Laboratory
The Centre for Bio-inspired Technology hosts a Genetic Technology Laboratory that provides a contamination-free environment in which molecular biology research can be conducted. The group has extensive expertise in the design and optimisation of a wide range nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) amplification chemistries, including PCR (dPCR, ddPCR, rtPCR, qPCR), LAMP (qLAMP, rtLAMP, pHLAMP), and RPA, and possesses gold-standard benchtop amplification equipment with which reactions can be run. This is in addition to the experience the group has in developing novel nucleic acid extraction processes, which facilitate point-of-care applications, and quantification to assess assay performance.
