London to Brighton Bike Ride
Around 28,000 cyclists turned out to cycle the 54 mile route at this year’s London to Brighton Bike Ride. They were joined by our own Imperial Wheelers Cycle Club in the aim of raising funds for the work of the British Heart Foundation in helping to beat heart disease.
All Imperial Wheelers team members completed the course in times ranging from 3.5 to 5 hours. Three Wheelers even managed it non-stop, including riding straight up Ditchling Beacon! The British Heart Foundation is close to Wheeler team member Angus Stephen's heart, as his father died from heart disease 25 years ago.
Said Angus, "Special mention goes to my team member Alan, who only started cycling three weeks ago when he bought his first bike for years. Ian also completed the ride in a great time, with the cause close to him, as he suffered a heart attack nearly a decade ago".
There is still time to donate. Click here if you wish to sponsor the Wheelers for the London to Brighton Bike Ride. All donations are secure and sent electronically to British Heart Foundation. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will add an automatic 28% bonus to your donation at no cost to you.
