Undergraduates at Imperial are being offered the opportunity to get to grips with current business issues and practices, as a way to enhance their employability and broaden their knowledge, in a series of master classes that opens for registration today.
Offered for free, the Business Imperial classes will cover topics such as the economic crisis and the reasons behind it, the rise of global marketing, and the future implications of the rapid growth of India and China. They will be given by leading professors in innovation, entrepreneurship, marketing and economics at Imperial College Business School.

"Having spoken to a number of employers, the impression I’m getting is that while they want world-class engineers, medics and scientists, they are also looking for those that have a fundamental understanding of business. That’s why we decided to run this pilot scheme," said Colin Love, Director of undergraduate studies at the Business School. "I’m hoping that students will take the opportunity to capture some of the world-class expertise we have here at the Business School and get a feel for the contemporary business issues that affect us all."
Classes start on 2 February 2012, and will take place every Thursday from 18:00-20:00 for eight weeks. With a capacity for up to 300 students, all undergraduates are being invited to register, from all disciplines and years of study, and places will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Students wishing to register or view the schedule of classes can visit: www.imperial.ac.uk/business-imperial
