Imperial College Careers Advisory Service launches new Internship and Placement Unit
The new team aim to increase the number and variety of Internships and industrial Placements available to all Imperial College Students
In recent years, it has become apparent that a growing number of companies are using their Summer Internships as a major recruitment tool for their graduate recruitment programmes. Moreover, an increasing number of employers are looking for industrial experience on graduates’ CVs.
In an effort to aid students in this ever-changing recruiter landscape, Imperial College Careers Advisory Service have employed two new Internship and Placement Officers, Amy Townsend and Eileen Scott to work directly with students, Careers Advisers and academic departments.
The new team aim to increase the number and variety of Internships and industrial Placements available to all Imperial College Students. These experiences will range from month long insights to year in industry placements, from within SMEs and charities to the more prominent programmes in large scale multinationals.
One of their main tasks in the coming months is to organise the first ever Internship Fair on May 17th 2012. This fair will play host to a variety of companies offering opportunities open to students at all levels.
