SCI partnered with Live Below the Line and successfully raised over £15,000 for treatment for neglected tropical diseases across sub-Saharan Africa.
A huge thank you to the 34 brave individuals who signed up to Live Below the Line 2012 to raise funds for SCI. So far they have raised an amazing £15,030 (www.livebelowtheline.com/uk-sci-imperial).
Live Below the Line challenges individuals and communities to live off just £1 per day for food for 5 days, bringing to life the direct experiences of the 1.4 billion people currently living in extreme poverty and helping to make real change. It is the very same 1.4 billion people most at risk of infection and the poverty provoking effects from neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). SCI is proud to be associated with Live Below the Line and its efforts to sensitise the population to the reality of life for the World’s extreme poor.
The official Live Below the Line 2012 Challenge ran between 7-11 May in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and USA, but individuals can take the challenge any time until 30 June when the site shuts down until next year.
