Sir Keith O'Nions appointed as the Director of the new Institute for Security Science and Technology
Sir Keith O'Nions has been appointed to set up and develop the Institute for Security Science and Technology which has recently been launched within the Faculty of Natural Sciences
Sir Keith O'Nions is former Director General of Science and Innovation in the Government's Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
The new Institute for Security Science and Technology will bring together scientists from the Faculties of Natural Sciences and Engineering to develop new technologies for safety and security, including research on the development of unique ‘fingerprints’ on items such as credit cards and passports to prevent fraud, as well as managing biosecurity risks.
