Internships at The Financial Times and The Economist

Europe and the recession

Will the recession do more to divide or unite Europe?

If you are a European journalist or would-be journalist and would like to be considered for a three-month Nico Colchester fellowship this year at the Financial Times or The Economist, then send in a 1,000-word article on the subject above, in English, together with a CV and covering letter.

The Foundation's aim is to help continental writers understand Britain and British writers understand
continental Europe. Two awards are thus available this year: one, for a British or Irish applicant, will
consist of a fellowship in continental Europe at the FT; the other, for an applicant from elsewhere in the
European Union, will be in London at The Economist. Both winners will receive a bursary of £5,000 to
cover accommodation and travel.

Entries should be sent, by the closing date of April 10th 2009, by e-mail only to ncprize@economist.com
