GLAXOSMITHKLINE: Residential Chemistry Training Experience - Sunday 6 to Friday 11 September 2009

A fully funded week-long training course designed to give you practical experience of the work of a graduate chemist in the pharmaceutical industry.

Based in the GlaxoSmithKline research chemistry laboratories we will provide you with personalised laboratory tuition together with coaching in interview technique, presentation skills and working in teams.
This successful programme is now in its sixth year and will be held at the
GlaxoSmithKline Medicines Research Centre, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG12NY from 6th - 11th September 2009.

The Training Experience is one approach that GlaxoSmithKline uses to encourage high calibre chemists from a variety of backgrounds to apply for positions in the pharmaceutical industry; therefore:

  • You should be a chemistry undergraduate about to enter your final year of study
  • Applications are particularly invited from ethnic minority undergraduates
  • Applications from mature students who have elected to study chemistry at a later stage in their career are also welcomed

In this year’s programme we will again be inviting chemistry graduates who have either taken a career break or moved into another area of work/business and wish to return to a career in chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry.

If you would like to gain an insight into the pharmaceutical industry and be part of this interactive programme, please complete and return the application form no later than 12th June 2009 to:
