Annual Fund appeal brings new support to Imperial
The annual mail appeal to Imperial College alumni has brought many new supporters to the Annual Fund
Many of the College's alumni have recently received a letter or an email from Imperial College Rector Sir Roy Anderson, asking them to pledge their support to the Annual Fund. The response to this letter has so far been exceptional, and the College would like to express its gratitude to everyone who has contributed. Gifts in so far have contributed towards the most successful year for the Annual Fund to date, tipping funds raised through various appeals during 2008-09 over the £500,000 mark.
The Annual Fund channels financial support to several priority projects which all contribute towards making Imperial College a better place for its students and staff to study and work. You can read about current priorities on the Annual Fund web pages, where you also have the opportunity to make an online donation.
Now is a great time to make a gift to the Annual Fund because, with the UK government's matched funding scheme currently in effect, donations go even further. Under this initiative, philanthropic donations to Imperial College are matched at a ratio of three to one, meaning that for every £3 donated to the Annual Fund, the College receives another £1 in addition. This includes donations from both UK and overseas residents, and the match extends to the Gift Aid contribution received by the College from eligible donations from UK taxpayers.
