A competition for innovation in the field of Wind Energy. Win a trip around the world

Vestas Winnovation Challenge 2010

Help us take on one of the most important challenges of our time - and win a trip around the world! Twice already, Vestas has challenged top students around the world. Now, it's your chance to participate in the Vestas Winnovation case competition 2011.

In February 2011, Vestas, the world leader in wind energy solutions, is challenging Master's degree students within engineering to come up with ideas that could impact our clients around the globe and the world's wind energy market. If your concept is selected, we'll fly you out to Denmark at our expense, where you'll present your idea to top Vestas executives. You'll get to compete with the best minds from Europe, Asia and USA, for a chance to win airline tickets for a trip around the world.
Vestas will host the competition on the 10th and 11th of February 2011 at our state-of-the-art Technology R&D facility in Aarhus, Denmark. As a participant you'll be facing some of the key business challenges that are of vital importance to Vestas and the use of wind energy in the future within these areas:

Power plant/Electrical engineering
Supply chain management
Quality in production

In order to be eligible for the finals in Denmark, you must pre-register as well as submit a solution to one of the preliminary cases. Have a look under Case Summaries to find out exactly what the challenges are.
The deadline for submission of preliminary cases is Friday the 26th of November 2010. We open for pre-registration and submission of case solutions on the 1st of October. If you have questions in relation to the competition, please contact winnovation@universum.se

We're looking forward to receiving your case solution.

This is what previous participants thought of the Winnovation experience:

"A very unique concept, indeed! This is an innovative method of bringing in the best students from around the world to experience the company and its culture first-hand."

"This experience opened my eyes about how good working for Vestas seems to be. I am doing my master thesis at the moment but once concluded I would definitely like to do the Graduate Program."

"I truly had an amazing time and can only speak good things about the event."

"It's certainly unique in the level of involvement of Vestas staff. The amount of time and effort that went into it by multiple departments of Vestas employees is second to none."

"I thought the event was run with the utmost precision and professionalism. The Vestas employees were all very approachable and honest and freely answered all of my questions. I can't say enough good things about the event and the organizers. Thank you very much for letting me be part of it!"

"It's a great initiative because flying in so many people from all around the world shows the company's commitment to the event and to the way in which it looks at potential employees. I do not know of any company which conducts such events that are a mix of challenge, networking opportunity and ‘employment exploration avenue'."
