How the Careers Advisory Service can help!
Steps to assessment centre success – what we offer…
The Careers Advisory Service offers you a number of opportunities to develop the skills which you are likely to use when attending an employer’s assessment centre and to find out more about the process.
You don’t need to have already been invited to an assessment centre to start finding out about the range of activities which you may have to undertake.
RESOURCES… Get an introduction to assessment centres by viewing a wide range of resources including:
- Careers Advisory Service handouts, and information sheets –free copies from the Careers Advisory Service Information Room or download via: www.imperial.ac.uk/careers/resources/handouts.
- Reference Books - A number of books to help you develop various skills which you may need to be successful at an assessment centre are available from the Careers Advisory Service reception desk. These include: Great Answers to Tough Interview Questions, ‘Perfect Presentations' and
'How to Pass Selection Tests'. - Information files particularly the ‘Interviews and Assessment Centres’ file - Browse the contents of this file in the Careers Advisory Service Information Room for further insights into the range of activities which you may encounter at an assessment centre.
- Online Resources - Find out more about activities at a typical assessment centre with videos available through the CAS website
'The Assessement Centre’ can be viewed in the Careers Information Room or online.
