BIS / UK-China: 2010 Fellowships for Excellence Programme

UK-China

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) are pleased to announce the 2010 Fellowships for Excellence Programme.

At least 5 post-doctoral scholarships are available to top researchers who are based in an English university or research institution who wish to undertake research in China or Hong Kong from Autumn 2010.

The Fellowships for Excellence programme forms a central part of the UK-China: Partners in Education programme and, so far, has enabled over 30 outstanding post doctoral researchers to study and conduct cutting edge research for up to one year at a Chinese university or research institution.

The 2010 tranche of awards will provide funding for at least 5 new awards for post doctoral researchers to undertake research and create lasting research links with a Chinese research department.

Applications are welcome from all disciplines although preference will be given to areas directly related to science and technology. We would welcome especially applications from Sports Science researchers in recognition of each country’s hosting of the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012.

Completed application forms should be sent electronically to uk.china@jiu.gsi.gov.uk by 20 August 2010.

See www.bis.gov.uk/policies/higher-education/international-education/china/fellowships-for-excellence for more details.
