SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT: The Singapore Public Service Policy Challenge - 11 to 13 March 2011

The Singapore Public Service Policy Challenge

Over 1,000 undergraduates in Singapore have put themselves in the hot seat of the policy-maker. Now it's your turn.

The Singapore Public Service Policy Challenge is a case competition, set in a Singapore national policy context which gives you a chance to gain practical policy-making experience, interact with like-minded peers as well as network with policy-makers from Singapore.

The Public Service in Singapore works with the elected government to shape Singapore’s future. It is a diverse organisation with some 124,000 public officers working in 15 Ministries, more than 50 Statutory Boards and 9 Organs of State. Through the work that it does, the Public Service provides infrastructure, homes, education, law and order and defence, and creates the right environment for our people to earn a good living, raise a family and lead a fulfilling life.

For the first time, the Challenge is extending beyond Singapore to students studying in UK universities. You will have the chance to think like a policy-maker - address a major issue concerning Singapore, consider the needs of stakeholders, manage the trade-offs and achieve the desired outcome.

All we need is 48 hours of your time. We will transform that 48 hours into an enriching experience that promises rigour, excitement and fun.
