JANUARY NEWS 2011
As a Member of the Institute
As Member of the Institution of Civil Engineer’s (ICE’s) Steering Group, Professor Sue Grimes has been involved the “State of the Nation” report on Waste and Resource Management. The process involved a “call for evidence” from some 100 key stakeholders, with representation from Government, government bodies, trade associations, industry, business and academia. The purpose of the report, in line with previous ICE State of the Nation reports, was designed to stimulate debate and highlight the actions needed to improve the infrastructure and associated services within the waste industry thereby moving the sector from one of “disposal” to one of “supply”. The report was launched publicly at the Institution on 12th January 2011.
