The Athena Swan Charter is a framework used across the world to support and transform gender equality within higher education (HE). Imperial has been a member of the Charter since 2005, and currently holds a Silver institutional award. Departments also hold their own awards.
The Julia Higgins Medal and Awards are awarded annually to recognise individuals, groups, and departments that have made a significant contribution to the support of women in academia at the College.
